Thanks for accepting me into this group. I've only recently discovered that I have Hargadon ancestors after having my DNA done on Ancestry. I recently met up with a second cousin in Ireland (I'm from England, he's from Massachusetts) and we are still trying to piece together our connection. - I have only just started researching my Mothers father's ancestry so am sorry but haven't found my exact Hargadon connection yet. I have had my DNA done with ancestry and am linked up as a second cousin to an American (but very Irish) Paul Shea, plus numerous other third and fourth cousins. He has already done his family tree (a lot of it years ago through the Sligo genealogy society I believe) and whilst I can't confirm for certain sharing his "Shea" side we have worked out that we are definitely related through his Hargadons from Sligo. My mother was born out of wedlock so I'm not anticipating my research to be easy though! Of course I'm not sure if your Hargadons are the same as our Hargadons, but I did read somewhere that it's a very rare name so I'm just hoping and guessing that we all descend from the same family originally.

- Well I'm a crazy 53 year old from South West England, and am seriously getting addicted to this whole ancestry thing! I have managed to do my father's line going back to the 1500s and was very excited to have a big family meet up a couple of months ago with random cousins I'd never met before. And I've just booked a flight and hotel for two days in Dublin next week to meet up with cousin Paul Shea mentioned above, he is 82 years old and travelling over from America with his elderly wife for a week's tour around Ireland! Oh and just one more thing.....I've always loved Irish music (even long before I knew I had so much Irish ancestry) so perhaps that's just something in my blood that I can't help!!
