Edward Hargadon born23rd Dec.1861,married Catherinr Bridget Kelly on the 1st,May1876,had a daughter Catherine born18thNov.1878,who drown on Titanic in 1912,provided knife to cut rope on Life boats;also John born on 18th,june 1880,home addresses were Milestone and New Line.

Kate Hargadon who perished on Titanic was the daughter of Patrick Hargadon and Mary Creighan from house 6 in Carrownamadda (spelt carrownamaddoo in the 1911 Irish Census).  The knife you are referring to belonged to the Devaney girl, her friend from Kilmacowen, She survived. It was purchased in Barton Smith's in Sligo.
