I was born in London, my dad James Hargadon was from Scotland and had 5 sisters!!! I have a brother in the UK and a sister in Australia. I was a Hargadon and proud for 36 years before getting married. I have always loved having an unusual name.
Hi Lisa
My maiden name was also Hargadon. I dont know if there is a connection or not but my great uncle Bernard emigrated to Scotland in 1882 approx. He was married to Ellen Kilbride and they had 10 children. James was also my grandfathers name.
Hi Lisa
Great to hear from you. We are the same family. Your g grandfather Bernard and my grandfather James were brothers. There was also John, Michael, Francis, Patrick and Mary Anne. I am in contact with Jim Boyle in New Jersey. His grandmother Mary Anne Hargadon Walshe and your grandfather would have been brother and sister. There are other family members in California. I have been researching for a few years now and find it difficult to make progress. I will share any information that may be of use to you.
Regards Geraldine
Hi Lisa,
I was speaking to a Mr Tierney a few years ago re the Hargadons on this Familytreemaker site. A lot of the first names appear in my familytree also.He has a Hargadon picture on the site with the names Barney Hargadon , James, Mary Ann, Nellie and John. James and John bear a striking resemblence to my late father. I have been unable to find any family connection yet.
My gt gt grand uncle spend some time in Scotland before emigrating to Australia.
Regards,
Brian
Hi Lisa
I am going through the notes here trying to make a better connection. John Hargadon born in Ireland 1881, son of Bernard and Ellen Kilbride moved to Uphall Scotland between 1881 and 1883. John married Sarah Ann Dowds in 1914. They had a son James but no DOB given, I wonder if this was your father. If this is definatley the same family as you, I have a picture of Bernard Hargadon and 4 of his children (James, Mary Anne, Ellen and John (your grandfather ?) This photp was taken in circa 1914 I got it from Pat Tierney in British Columbia, Canada also a decendant of Bernard
Hi Lisa
I'm the Jim Boyle from New Jersey that Geraldine mentioned in her note to you. My grandmother Mary Anne Hargadon Walshe has a brother James borm 21 Feb 1894 in Scotland & he was married to Barbara Mc Gleave? on 30 September 1920 in the catholic church in broxburn Scotland. I have not info on Children and the dates fit whereby your father may be his son. Does any of this fit into what you know about the family? I have additional family info that may be the same as Geraldine's. There was also a brother Joseph born in 1897 who emigrated to the states in 1930 the same year as my mother( the daughter of Mary Anne). Looking forward to more messages.

Hi Lisa
Happy to have found another relative. Joseph Hargadon married Jean Young (i was not sure they were married in Scotland or the US - if you have any dates or other info I would appreciate it). They had 2 children Jean b Jan 1934 and Bernard b 1940. Both of them are deceased but I see that Bernard's wife Mary Jane (living in Wyoning Pennsylvania USA) is also listed as a member. I will send you what I have on the Hargadon - Walshe ancestory via your email. If you can fill in dates of births, marriages, children, deaths etc etc i would be happy to update my file and get it back to you. more later. Jim
Lisa - I sent you an email that will keep you occupied for a while. i originally sent it to the wrong email address. The Pat Tierney that recently joined is another of Mary Ann Hargadon Walshe's grandsons and he has a brother Kevin in Perth so maybe kevin and barbara might get together. The email address for Kevin I have is kev_mary@iinet.net.au. Jim
It is hard to imagine it is almost 10 yrs since these messages were written. I have recently got back into family search and was wondering if you have made any progress. I am now living in north Carolina for the last 5 years and now have a little more time on my hands (better not let my wife hear that since she always has things for me to do). if you or your sister want to continue discussions use jim1059@nc.rr.com for an email address. Jim Boyle
How is everything with you, I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on:(mrsstellaabudheir200@gmail.com ) for the full details.
Have a nice day
Thanks God bless.
Stella.
